Time savings when using the Chain Interlocking Suspension Device
Service teams usually consist of 2-3 employees. In order to carry out their activities, the teams in the gondola need tools and various equipment. In order to transport the required material into the nacelle, 2 employees are tied up all the time. One employee operates the nacelle chain hoist in the nacelle and a second man is responsible for loading the material at the base of the tower.
1. An approved transport box is used for material transport. With this transport box, the required material can be spent in the nacelle.
2. At the top of the chain hoist, 3 chain hooks with 2 x 100 kg payload can be hung at the same time.

For each transport with the transport box (with a hub height of approx. 100 m) approx. 20 min. (10 min downwards / 10 min. Upwards) are needed.
Without KEV, a service team achieves a daily output of 1.5 wind turbines.
With KEV, a service team achieves a daily output of 2 wind turbines. As a result, an additional startup of the wind turbine is no longer necessary.
Since up to 75% of the usual transport times can be saved, the investment in the chain attachment device has paid for itself after just a few service calls.
